2008 Wrestling Predictions

Some predictions and wishes for 2008 in pro wrestling. Of course, it goes without saying that my main wish is that there are no more tragic deaths of pro wrestlers in 2008. I also hope that as Jake”The Snake”Roberts did, so will other current and former wrestlers go to get help for their substance and/or alcohol abuse.

PREDICTIONS
--Former two-time N.C.A.A. national wrestling champion/former W.W.E. Champ Brock Lesnar and former N.C.A.A. national wrestling champion/Olympic gold medalist/former W.W.E. Champ Kurt Angle will fight one another on a UFC pay-per-view.

--John Cena becomes champion once again when he beats W.W.E. Champ Randy Orton, Batista, and Triple H in a Four Corners match at Summerslam.

--The Dudleys (Brother Ray and Brother Devon pictured above with numerous tag team titles), “Pyscho” Sid, Tammy”Sunny”Sytch, and Steve Blackman will all return to the W.W.E.

--Britney Spears will make an appearance and do some kind of run-in at Wrestlemania.

--In February, Ric Flair will go out in style by defeating Edge for the World Championship. He will immediately retire and then will be inducted into the W.W.E. Hall of Fame.

WISHES
--Hornswoggle in small, no pun intended, doses.

--Ditto for the ladies. They're all great looking, but generally put on boring matches.

--That an upstart promotion will come about much in the same way that the old E.C.W. did.

--That President George W. Bush will declare 2008 the "year of the Dudleys" in honor of all they have accomplished and given to society.

--Hulk Hogan vs. "Stone Cold"Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 24.

Come back tomorrow for the slightly more serious, although somewhat more humorous, Odds & Sods 2008 Global Predictions & Wishes.
