Was Jimi Hendrix Murdered?

Ian Punnett had former Jimi Hendrix roadie, James 'Tappy' Wright, on Coast To Coast AM over the weekend. The two discussed the theory that Hendrix was murdered and did not die of a drug overdose. The circumstances of his death have never fully been explained, though most assumed it was due to an accidental overdose. Wright says that Hendrix was murdered by his manager, Mike Jeffery. The motive was that Jeffery owed money to the mob and would collect on the insurance money.

Hendrix has been put together with Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison as music's "three J's;" rock stars that all died at the age of 27 in 1970 (Hendrix, Joplin) or 1971 (Morrison). The Rolling Stones' Bryan Jones - out of the band at the time of his death - died of an overdose in 1969, however, his girlfriend at the time said that Jones was withholding money from someone that was working on his house, thus she submits that Jones was murdered by the builder.

Incidentally, Hendrix supposedly was going to join Emerson Lake and Palmer to form H.E.L.P.
